hreflang checker
Check a whole hreflang cluster the way Google reads it: return links, language and region codes, x-default, canonicals, redirects, sitemaps, HTTP headers and JavaScript rendering.
Reports and their data are stored in the EU. Pages are fetched from the United States, where Googlebot crawls from.
What the check covers
The whole cluster
Every alternate is fetched and its own annotations are compared with the rest, so a missing return link, a redirecting alternate or a noindex page shows up in one matrix.
All three methods
HTML head, HTTP Link header and XML sitemap annotations are read side by side. Conflicts between them get their own tab.
Codes and x-default
Every value is checked against ISO 639-1, ISO 15924 and ISO 3166-1, with fixes for common mistakes like en-UK, es-419 and en_US.
JavaScript and geo
A sample of pages is rendered the way Googlebot renders, and the start URL is fetched from five countries to catch geo-redirects and language banners.
Fix-it output
Each report ends with a corrected hreflang set as HTML link elements, an HTTP Link header and a sitemap block, ready to copy. The fixes are validated by the same rules before they are shown.
